what have you used for steering cowling?

as title, bit stuck here really, i've still got my ignition barrel on the column mainly for getting through sva mechanical immobilisation thingy, so i can't really just sleave it with some wide tubing but the sierra cowling is just totally the wrong size and as i have no stalks there looks rather silly!

anyone help?

thanks
john

How about a piece of 4" plastic waste pipe? Bond some brackets on the inside to hold it in place, and a coat of paint or cover in vinyl.

I thought of using plastic piping myself but it was a complete pain in the a*se to get it around all the column mounted switches. If your switches are dash mounted then it might be a lot easier and would look good if finished as zetec says.
