Er...diff position?
Hello there indy builders...
I'm building my own IRS car and am coming up to the point of making some brackets for my diff. According to my measurements, the passenger side rear
diff flange (I got a lobro type LSD diff) is 40mm further out than the other one. My long driveshaft appears to be 40mm longer than the other one, so
this puts my propshaft flange slap in the middle of the transmission tunnel. All my measurements are subject to a couple of mm of being wrong of
course.
I've always thought everyone puts the sierra diff prop-flange central in the tunnel cos it goes in the middle in the Sierra (or at least it seemed to
be in the middle when i measured my sierra before giving it the chop).
Anyway, I hear today that that might not be the case and before I mount it in I wondered if anybody could tell me where uncle Keenan puts his diffs in
the Indy. Is the propshaft flange central to the car? I cant see how my measurements can be very far out - but I reckon I'll go with Martin on this
one.
Cheers

Update...
Ok I spoke to Martin himself and he tells me the propshaft runs "100%, bang centre" through the tunnel.
I guess that answers my question, unless he's lying to me cos I haven't bought an Indy.

Sounds like you're answering your own question Liam.
Martin calls a spade a spade, its says so in the latest Kit car mag!
Yes it's central mate, you dont have much spare room either way anyhow.
