MK help- who makes the GT1?

can someone help my feeble brain- who makes the GT1 etc?
i know that MK is now not MK. And that the company that used to be MK now makes the Indy?
so who makes the GT1? does it still exist?

or has it changed into something else with another company?

head hurts.

I understand that no-one makes the GT1 any more.

There was a successor but Martin sold it to some one else. I believe the details are on his web site.

Cheers

Mark

The GT-1 was discontinued by MK some time ago, from the GT-1 they developed the GT-R which was initially named Banshee. Not long after the development of the GT-R was finished, MK sold it to Evolution Sportscars, which doesn't seem to have done much (or at least there's no info on their web).

By MK I mean MK Engineering, as now these is also MK Sportscars which takes care of everything Indy now.

Cheers,

Alex

rumour has it that the 'dominator' is based on the underpinnings of the gt1, I gather the owner of the dominator project used to own a gt1

The gt2's rights were sold to evolution sportscars i think who are going to be marketing/selling it themselves I believe.

Martin (MK engineering) designed and built the gt2 before selling the rights, he does custom one off and fancy pipe bending with his machines and skills.

MK sportscars still make the indy..

Hope I got all that right

Ned.

What you lost me there?

The Gtr was built by Martin himself when he still ran MK (the original co.)Martin and all the now MK Sportscars lads all weld to an exceptionally high standard.:

Ah! now I understand.

I must admit the GTR was very nice to drive ,I was lucky enough to be one of the first to drive it on the road to try it out, after having helped to sort out a few engine probs with Martin and crew.
It felt very safe at all speeds even when going deep into a bend.
I was also riding shotgun when Andy Robey blew a rod through the block at Donnington.

Having talked to Robert at Evolution Sportcars he told me that he doesnt have the time to devote to promoting this great car and has sold the GT-R back to Martin at MK Engineering. He said that Martin will contine to provide parts for those still building.
