Mounting brackets for headlights

I have seen a few methods for holding on the headlights i was thinking of the bar all the way across, but how har back from the front is it, I am also trying to get them as low as possible, is the bar welded on as I am soon painting the chassis.

The oval bar MK supply fits all the way across and bolts into the chassis using rivnuts.

Oh yes,nearly forgot! Most of the Indy's I've seen bolt the bar over the top shocker mount.

The light bar sit's directly above the shocks as Dean say's. I just put mine on last week.
