master cylinder question

Hi again

Just about to mount the master cylinder and hope someone can help out before I proceed.
The build manual states to use 6mm thread rod as a push rod in the rear of the master cylinder to connect to the clevis on the brake pedal. I've just measured the bore on the master cylinder and it's 10mm.
Should the rod be larger than 6mm for a 10mm bore and do different master cylinder types for a 2.0 Sierra have different bore diameters?
Also where did you guys source your clevis from?

If it's any help the master cylinder is for a 2.0 Sierra and is a Bendix with the front port angled upwards

Thanks again for any assistance and info

further to my question above regarding the diameter of the threaded rod which goes nito the back of the master cylinder, what length should it be or what determines it?

If it helps with my questions the master cylinder has a large 22 stamped on it.

Many thanks for any help

If you can find the right clevis that should do on its own. It's length needs to be enough to reach from the pedal to the cylinder with some small clearance. And the inside of the open end is probably dished rather than flat.

I used a 10mm clevis with a short length of M10 threaded rod which fits perfectly into my m/c. 6mm sounds a bit puny to me! Length is adjustable by screwing the rod in/out and it's locked off with an M10 nut.

Got mine from a trailer manufacturer/supplies place like this: http://www.western-towing.co.uk/acatalog/Brake_cable_connectors.html
