Damn, blast, bugger and b******s!!!!!

Was hoping to have my car on it's wheels for the first time today, but have just found that the steering tie rods coupled with the MK supplied extentions make everything too long and the toe out is immense.

I bought new tie rods, and must have been supplied with the wrong ones (I asked for the right ones though - let down by Godfrey Autoparts again! )

Since the extentions are far from perfect (the threads inside are all crossed over and don't work properly), do MK do a shorter extention or will I need to get them nmachined down a bit?

I'm planning on going to MK tomorrow anyway to either get them changed for shorter items, or remachine the thread and cut them down.

I wouldn't get the threads recut, bin them where you got them and ask for some that are good.

Try chopping a bit off the steering arm to give you the right length (use a hack saw so they don't get too hot!), but don't make them too short

I'm not sure if it's a bad thread that's been tapped, or that they're crudded up with the metal shavings that didn't come clean away - either way, I'll get them sorted by MK tomorrow.

Never thought about cutting the rods down - I'll wait until I've got the extentions sorted first, to make sure the threads work properly - and hopefully MK can supply some shorter extentions, which would be even more ideal.
