Indy with polo rad
Morning
Just finishing off the plumbing on a pinto Indy with a polo rad.
What have you guys done about the small take off at the top of the rad. I was considering joining it to a t piece where the the thermostat pipes back
to the expansion bottle.
Is this required or can I just blank it off? If you've blanked it off how do you get rid off any air at the top of the rad?
thanks
Nigel

I cut the small outlet pipe off flush with the body of the rad and sealed it with a stainless self tapper, PTFE tape and a fibre washer under the
head. It hasn't leaked so far and no problems with air in the rad either.

I puta bit of hoze over it with a bolt in the end. When filling just take the hoze off untill all the air is out.

For about 70p I bought one of the Ford rubber blanking nipples that's used on the little extra pipe off the thermostat. Possibly on EFI
Pinto'd cars.
With a little filing of the rad's pipe (but leaving enough so there was still a tiny ridge of flange) this just fitted inside the nose cone.
Hope that makes sense,
James
