MK Indy K series Turbo Back on the road.

After the usual glitches with our friends the DVLA changing my engine number and engine capacity details, I have it taxed and its back on the road, It goes extremely well, all sorts of whooshing and snorting going on when you boot it, Got some new clocks aswell, I will do the switches later.I have still got to find a cunning way to cover the Zaust hole where the 4 pipes used to come out.
Steve.

Looks very smart. Maybe look at some rear facing louvres to draw the heat from the turbo out.

Luvley install, well done!

Perhaps some chrome or black mesh to fill the hole secured from inside?

Nice one Steve

How quick is it compared to the Kwak engine?

Also who did you get the adaptor plate for the engine / gearbox from?

Cheers

Mike

I have got some louvres to fit, I got some RS Turbo ones but they are too big so got some from Dreaming Thieves.

Mike The engine is brand new so I have not caned it yet. It still lights up the tyres though I had the adapter plate made to my instuctions at a really good engineering place in Nuneaton.

Very nice. Think I'd leave the zorst hole, it's already neatly cut and may help under bonnet airflow.

Edit: Oh, the blue hoses don't go, maybe get some black ones when time comes to replace them

Clocks from Dreaming Thieves, They are the same as the ones Greengauges do I think. But the set was marginaly cheaper from Demons.

Looks good!

For the zorst hole I agree: stainless mesh stuck on the inside. You could make a matching one the other side to help with cooling

Looks great steve, does the engine fit under the bonnet without the need for a bonnet bulge? If so how low below the chassis rails is your sump? is it the shortened caterham one?
Sorry for all the questions, I've just put my engine in and don't have any bodywork so don't know how far above the top chassis rail my engine can sit.

Are you going to Donington?

Steve.

It has the Cateringvan sump, there is about 50mm below the chassis rails. The inlet manifold is well up into the bonnet bulge, I doubt if you could get away easily without one.
I dont think I will be at Donnington, If I do it will be on Sunday,
Steve.

It's good to see a K series turbo fitted. The last time i mentioned fitting one my plans were blown out of the water with things like, too heavy, unreliable, oil leaks ... not good cheap power. Good on ya!
