The protechs are a great shocker for the money, they have a alloy body so you save a bit of weight,if I recall the spring size is 13" open and 9" closed, and on a bike engine car I would go 175 rears and 275 fronts, although you could go up to a 225 on the rear if your doing a lot of track work, helps to reduce the body roll.

I've had no problems with Gaz, so I can only recommend them.

I had no problems with Gaz or Protech, but the Protech look sooo much nicer.

I have AVO's and they're very nice.

I have a CEC but use 150lb rear (live axle) and 275lb front.

Only thing I would check next time is that the damping valving is designed to suit such a lightweight car. I am currently set to 4th click on the front and 2nd click on the rear but the valves will adjust over a range of 24 clicks in total. My settings suggest that these shocks were designed for a heavier car.

I am inclined to agree, I have avo shocks and they are set on their hardest (never turned a wheel yet, so I guess it was assumed hardest was needed)

They are incredibley hard, I was stood on the rollcage the other day and no matter how i bounced the car the suspension didn't move more than about 1/2 cm. it is exceptionally stiff, which implies it would be suitable for a lot heavier cars. Once I et nearer the end of my build I will wind the adjustment right off and see what its like fully loaded.
