Bending Brackets

I eventually got the front wing brackets on. What is the best technique for bending them. Do I just lean on them using the tyre as the mould?

Any tips

You will have to space them with something. Something the thickness of what you want the distance between bracket and tyre to be.

A couple of spanners held in one hand balanced on the corner of the wheel should see you about right, and then like you said, just bend them!

It depends how thick your wing supports are. Mine were 5mm thick and obviously needed to be bent in a vice.... Not a particularly fun job (attach to upright, measure gap, detach, take to vice, bend [ie wallop with hammer], rpt)...

I used small blocks of wood between the tyre and the wing bracket to act as a former. It helps if you put plenty of air in the tyre to keep it nice and solid.

It's a bugger of a job to do and get right and even both sides - probably one of the most frustrating jobs during the build TBH.
