Do you have a modified rack?

If so, what length are your steering arm extensions?

standard sierra rack shortened by MK std track rod ends QH 1833 and 1834 and extensions are 114mm each dont worry sorted now the thread in the extension is only 25-30 mm deep even though the hole is around 70mm

rough rule of thumb you want 1.5 times diameter of thread engaged - so assuming these are same diameter as mk2 escort - M 14 - that is 21 mm minimum. This does not include any thread covered by the half nut.

took extensions to work today and tapped the thread a little deeper to around 40mm so all is well now
