Exhaust fouls brace

Got my engine in today.
Alas when i tried to fit the manifold it fouled the round tube diagonal

Now I don't want to cut out the cradle and it's associated brace.
Can this diagonal be removed without weakening the chassis too much?
Do the bike engined chassis have this brace? Or have I spaced the cradle wrong?

Cheers

Ben

You couldn't pwn your way out of a wet paper bag, with "PWN ME!!" written on it, from the "pwned take-away" which originally contained one portion of chicken tikka pwnsala and the obligatory free pwnpadom.

If you can weld, replace the single diagonal with two in a 'V' shape. Don't just remove it, I'd say it's pretty fundamental to preventing the engine bay folding in half!

I had the same problem when I trial fitted my exhaust manifold, it goes on but it's touching that tube. I was thinking along the lines of trying to lean my engine over to one side a bit, or failing that 'relieve' the exhaust a little with the no1 tool...

A bent tube is a pre-crashed one as they say.

You need to cut it out, then make up a Y brace as above, you will then have plenty of room and not weakened the chassis.

Takes 1/2 hour when you are this stage of the build.

Regards Mark
