vapor digi dash

can any body help me with calibrating the speedo on my vapor? i have fixed the trigger magnet onto the diff flange and set the rolling radius as per the instructions.when i drive my mk indy at 20mph the speedo reads 68mph. i have spoken to trailtech and have been told there is a way to fix the problem but he does not know how it is done. i will be very greatfull for any help.
thanks,

Try putting another magnet opposite or 4 all round dividing the distance by the number of magnets.
That may make it stable.

Have you put it on the diff flange from the prop?
Remember that any wheel dimension will be changed by the diff ratio if you have.
If you are using driveshafts, then the magnet should go on the diff/driveshaft flange.
Otherwise, make a mark on your tyre and diff flange and rotate the tyre and count out the flange to tyre turns and recalculate a new circumferece for the vapor.
Hope that this makes sense!

the magnet is on the flange on the nose of the diff.counting the no of turns of the flange to 1 turn of the tyre is no problem but how do i calculate the new figure? hope you dont think i am dumb but this is all new to me.thanks for the help,
Andy

The reading you are getting is affected by the output ratio of the diff, therefore multiply the radius/diameter/circumference by the diff ratio and enter that figure.

If you are running 195 x 50 x 15, your radius is approx 288mm, diameter 576mm and circumference 1,810mm. Whichever figure you enter into the veypor (Radius, diameter or circumference), multiply by the diff ratio. So assuming you're using a 3.62:1 diff, enter the radius of 1,043mm, diameter of 2,085mm or circumference of 6,551mm.

I read it wrong Try dividing the figures by the diff ratio, so; assuming a 3.62:1 diff;

Radius = 80mm
Diameter = 159mm
Circumference = 500mm

Put simply, if you rotate your wheel once and the diff/prop turns 3 times, whatever you use for your vapor input, divide by 3.
Example:
Using Wheel Circumference 500mm
Diff turns 3 times to one wheel turn
500/3= 166.7.

If you know the diff ratio, you divide by that.

Example:

3.62:1 diff
500mm Circumference

500/3.62=138.1

many thanks to all members who gave me speedy advice.before fitting extra magnets i divided my radius of 1814mm
by the diff ratio of 3.62:1=501.when i changed the setting on the dash the speed is spot on.great stuff lads.
