New Car - My first drive and thoughts
As previous posts the car was officially legal yesterday and I have done about 50 miles in it. My thoughts:
1) Christ its quick ( in any gear it has Millenium Falcon acceleration)
2) My driving ability is way lower than the cars capabilty.
3) I had one hairy moment when I got caught out in a shower today. A little too much gas gets the wheels spining in all gears (brown trousers
time)
4) As I thought it could benefit from a lower geared diff (currently 3.62) and some proper wheels and tyres
5) Did I mention how quick it is
But all in all I am well chufted with what I have achieved. Cant wait to get it properly set up and gain more confidence/ability

Nice one Paul!
I'd recommend going to Bruntingthorpe on MK's next day there.
The open track is both fast and fun. And if you get it wrong, you've got miles of run off.

It would be nice for Steve to have a go in a proper car ;-)

Posts like this give me the extra shove of motivation I sometimes need. I'm building a zx12 Indy and I've only ever once been out in a
BEC (or a 7 at all for that matter) and that was MK's gixxer but it was snowing so we were taking it very very steady. I know it'll be
fast but I'm hoping I don't quite understand how quick just yet

Its sometimes difficult to keep going but boy is it worth it. If you have never driven a 7 (me included till yesterday) it is a complete assault on
your senses.
The only thing different about this car is that I built it and you cant comprehend the sense of pride when driving it
A bit gushy I know but may this feeling never end

Good effort to have gone out today. I'd been putting off even going to the garage due to the rain (all of 20 metres!).
First time out in the wet in my car I span it heading into Knutsford All I did was turn left at the lights and prod the loud pedal. At first it
is hard to comprehend how delicate the throttle work has to be when it's truly greasy as it would have been today.
Now wait till you get it on track in the wet. It's another dimension!

I agree Derek. Tin tops tend to be a bit more foregiving. My MK's throttle is very light and even a slight prod makes it angry
I have quickly learnt to respect it and not drive like its been stolen
