Whats it worth....

I am lightly considering selling my kit in favour of a fully built due to work commitments - this is a sunday morning thought .
The kit comprises.
Mk indy chassis
all body panels - white
All powder coated
new Avo gas adjust +coils
Type 9 5 speed
diff
propshaft
recon driveshafts
recon rear drums (+ powder coated)
steering rack
Steering cowl and stalks
Sierra log book, build manual etc

I think I have about £2400 in the car at the moment ..

Days like today I just wish I had bought one all built

Any photos of it in it's current state?

The starter kit is £2k from MK, with the deluxe kit at £3k.

I'd imagine you could get about what it owes you as a part built.

I would have thought it's worth a bit less than a new kit.

the reasoning:

I have a ten pound note, You definitely wouldn't buy it off me for £11 would you?

So if I offer it to you for £10 you still wouldn't buy it - what's the point?

If I offer it to you for £9 then it looks like a bargain.

so for someone to buy it it has to look like a bargain - ie less than you paid for it.

Cheers

Mark

Yup, very true Mark, but Sierra's are becoming more expensive, and combine that with the time taken to de-rust & paint all the donor parts, makes this quite an attractive option (IMHO).

Plus not everyone wants or are able to break a Sierra in their garage / drive / street, so it might be useful to someone.

I think at £2500 I would let it go and buy one already built,
looking at the MK kit prices that is a saving of about £600 plus you get the majority of the donor bits required.
parts fitted so far are
Diff
Brake lines
all suspension
wishbones
floor pan

Gelcoat panels need a polish, they are a little chalky but do come up as new with buffer.
if anyone interested let me know
Paul
