where to buy the correct length handbrake cable for an mk indy

Hi Guys,

It may have been asked before but i cant find anything useful...

I have the following:

MK Indy
Sierra rear calipers (solid discs)

Where can i buy a handbrake cable that fits... I bought a sierra one and its way too long but can't find a method of shortening that everyone agrees to so it will pass IVA.

Can you buy those ends that crimp on and clip to the calipers?

Please advise...Thanks

You can get a new cable end bit which grub screws onto the end of the shortened cable. I got one from MK but you can probably get one elsewhere too.

"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."

Would that pass IVA though? That's what I have but I;ve been told it would be a fail - I was going to solder it on too? It has 2 grub screw holes but I only have 1 grub screw so was going to solder in there and either end?

I got my cable modified by Speedy Cables.

I sent them the cable, cut to the required length and they crimped the ends. I asked them to print on the invoice that the cable was fit for purpose, which they did with no problems.

Been using the cable for a year, really pleased with their service. I think it cost about £25-30 including return postage.

The phone number for them is 01639 732213.

Sva inspector was happy with it.

John.

waited about a week for this cable to turn up and what do you know it does fit... too short.

Anyone reading this looking for a handbrake cable for an MK indy, buy the sierra one and shorten it!
