Disk retaining screw

Just started on the brakes and just wanted to confirm that the brake disk retaining screw is not used and the disk is held in place by the callipers\pads and the road wheel?

yes confirmed you are correct, in as much as the wheel nuts and wheel clamp the disc tight when they are done up. I think the screw is to stop the disc falling off when you change the wheels

IIRC Henry made two types anyway... one with screw, one without. Our's is without but unsure as to what real benefits there is apart from the one stated. HSE probably worked better then...
