fuel gauge

Can anyone enlighten me I am using a mk2 escort clocks and have a fuel tank sender from Kit Spares which is not reading properly.What can I do to fix this or do I have to get a separate guage.Thanks Aidan

You need to find a sensor which is matched in terms of resistance range to your dial. Randomly hoping that any old sensor will work with any old dial is going to end in tears, confusion and wasted time. Unless kit spares said it will work with your dials you need a different sensor...

I went to maplins and purchased a variable resistor, put it in line with the fuel gauge wire and adjusted it to show the correct levels.
