Busa mapping/range

Hi Guys,

Looking for answers to do with mapping and MK range.
What sort of range can you realistically get from an Mk during sedate motoring with the odd squirt? I'll be running a Gen 2 Busa.

I know the tank on the MK is fairly small and there aren't a massive amount of Vpower shell stations up where I am around the North York Moors. Having to take the skyline 20 miles away to fill up is a pain at the moment, but a small price to pay to the performance and peace of mind that i'm putting 'good' fuel in.

However if mapping to Vpower is best for the car and makes a noticable difference I'll do that. I guess any small gains make even more of a difference to a car of this weight, and I'd think that you're less likely to fill up with a bad batch of the wrong RON if you religiously stick to Vpower.

However I see superbikers filling up at any old garage along the sunday roads I use? Whats best?

I always thought higher RON was needed mainly for turbo engines, i always tried to use optimax back in the day when i had my evo.

but my road bike ZX6R i just use unleaded and also for the mnr with ZZR14 the 400miles i've done i've only used unleaded
no power commander fitted yet either

My Saab is fairly well stoked up (@290bhp) and for day to day use I see no difference in the knock count using standard pump gas. The knocks only start clocking up when working it hard over 5000rpm - but with 60,000 of my driving on it, it still hasnt burst

If I intended to do a trackday I would use Shell OptiRipoff, otherwise council petrol does just fine.

Standard bike engines I would expect to run on 95ron pump gas, is yours a non stock Hayabusa engine ?

Yep. A stock busa gen 2 engine. Is it worth the remap anyway? L
