GT1 Builders

Hi Guys

Sorry if this has been asked before but it seems that the GT1 does not feature that often. (I know, its my own fault for not posting stuff myself)

I spend a bit of time looking at topics on this site, though I have to say I am not a big poster to date (as can be seen)

However, I am building an MK GT1 and would like to know how many others are being built/completed.

Clearly the GT1 has been discontinued but it would be nice to know how you other guys are getting on.

When the weather inproves and I can get the car out of the garage to take some pics, and If I can work out how to post them here, I will put a few of my build on here.

Cheers

Mike

Thanks Snoopy.

As I suspected, not too many of us!

Jon

Thanks for your offer of a call in. I'm a fair way away from you (North Kent) but I do travel quite a bit on business so not out of the question. If you could send me your phone number on a U2U, I can give you a call when I'm in your neck of the woods.

I have not done the handbrake yet. Have a Sierra cable but struggling a bit with getting a nicely engineered solution. Currently thinking of getting custom made cables.

With regard to the gear change. I have an ST paddle shift with cable operation, but if funds permit (and her indoors) am tempted to go straght for an electric system (Kliktronic) but still using the ST paddles with micoswitches.

Cheers

Mike

Dont tell us! you ran out of fingers!

How many body sets has Mr Ison gone through due to his drastic driving techniques?

Only kidding Jon

Once I've finished a project why do I start another?

Thanks for the update.

Does the fact that 20 sets of fiberglass were made mean that there are some spares still about?

If so, what are the prices as I would'nt mind having some spare body parts!!

Cheers

you iccle bugger Bob, .

its the SWB model, maybe give other GT1 drivers piece of mind though, that was flat in 5th backwards into trye wall, no cockpit intrussion at all, unclipped belts, got out, cried.

Martin was there but did not see the incident, when he asked where i was he was told "up there stood in the middle of some white bits" he later took it in his stride (it was the 1st GT1), glad i did'nt bump into him till around 45 mins after the little excursion though.

Mike, i know where the later front body mould is (got light pods in it) but i'm pretty sure the rest have moved on.

GT1 Builders

Here's one more GT1 builder in Shrewsbury!

I am building one with a Honda Blackbird Engine running on carbs.
Just trying to get it running but have problems with the engine flooding, can anyone advise what fuel pump is best to use.

Should be ready for SVA by summer

Cheers
Duncan
