MK Bonnet with Standar Pinto Carb anyone?

I've failed my SVA on emissions for the second time :-(

Anyone close to Leeds that I could borrow an MK bonnet from?

Here's what I'm thinking... a guy close to me has got an original carb and manifold from a sierra.

I would like to fit this to my car. Then borrow a bonnet with a hole in it to get it through the test.

Then swap it all back and put my twin webbers back on after the test.

My bonnet is an MK one but I don't want to cut a hole in it for obvious reasons.

Anyone out there prepared to lend me their bonnet for the test?

I would be amazed if this guy can't tune your carbs to get through the test

My father got his 1700 rally xflow on twin 40's thro sva even knowing that it is running a tad rich. Why not try a local expert or a rolling road tune and stick with what youve got.

Mac#1 have put several pintos and twin 45 combos thro sva with no problems - there is a nack to setting them up. Mark will probably do it for you for a small fee. They will need to be re-adjusted after test before you do serious work as i believe he is able to get them to almost zero emissions.

Could MK not help you as well? I bet they have had similar concerns and developed suitable countermeasures following root cause analysis (a bit of automotive industry speak here for you!!)

Thanks for you reply people. Looking at all the alternatives it seems that the plan is now as follows.

Take it to have it set up on the rolling road in York. Then onto the test next Wednesday. Only the emissions to check.

Hopefully the setup will be OK on the rolling road then off to the test.

Thanks for the offer of the Bonnet Tom. I'll be back to you if the above plan fails and the car fails yet again.... if it does then I might take it to Hull and shove it off the docks. ;-) 4 times for god sake
