What exactly comes in the full kit

Chaps,

Contemplating putting in an order for full kit when I get back to blighty.

My question is, will I need extra aluminium sheet to plate the chassis behind the seat backs, or is this included in the kit. Also, when they say engine mountings on the pricelist, do they mean rubbers, or the steel (alloy?!?) brackets?

A little confused over what I get for £2495

Ta.

Ed.

The full kit is pretty good, but you will need a lot if extras, but thats down to your own choice. The Indy use GRP panels with plastic interior panels, so all the panels except the dash are included, but you might want to change some panels from GRP/Plastic to Aluminum. The engine mounts are complete including the rubber and steel. I got my kit just over a year ago, so my info might be a little out of date, but what you get in the full kit is: Body Panel (Int/ext) except boot cover/box
Full set of wishbones inc Ball joints
Full set of Coil over shockers
brake line kit (All the brake pipes)
Rear Uprights
Pedal kit (clutch, brake,accel)
Also they will modify an standard Sierra steering rack to fit (including track rod extensions), and modify the front upright off of your donor

The MAJOR parts you don't get are
Seats
Fuel tank (in fact no fuel system at all)
Any electrical (except the pressure brake switch) i.e. lights gauges etc.
Dashboard
Wheels

and of course the parts off of your donor.

I;m sure someone else will point out anything I've missed off.

Nuts, bolts, washers, rivets, p-clips, hoses, loom, pu adhesive, elbow grease, radiator, radiator brackets, hose clips, bonnet catches, nose cone grill, windscreen+fittings, wipers............

But then that's what building a kit is all about and most of it's not exoensive and largely down to personal choice/budget so don't be put off

I bought the starter kit and added bits along the way. I also made my own ally interior panels, which IMHO look better than the plastic ones (personal choice again). Having said that, the full kit is very good value and significantly cheaper than buying bits individually.

Order, build, drive...get on with it.

I may be able to help out on the donor package front as well if you're interested. U2U me for details.

Cheers
Nick

Ed, for your £2,495 you will also get the following in addition to the list above

Interior Panels - Full set
Full Brake pipe set
Exchange steering rack
Battery tray
Engine mounts

Oh yeah and the shocks are the lighter, aluminium Protech jobbies. Not sure if you get the balljoints or the rack extensions though......

go for the MK over the GTS anyday, fair enough the guys at mk may not be the best when it comes to playing with a computer but they always helped me out when needed unlike the other company who just crawls under his very own rock and delivers as and when he feels like it.

just voicing my opinion leigh thats allnot trying to cause a war. calvin came on here basically trying to sway this guy away from buying a indy and to buy a gts instead but imo the mk would be better to go for as it has a far better back up.

Snoopy,

Thanks for that: it has cleared a few things up.

When you say "remind them of it"...

Does that mean that some of the parts that were included in the kit no longer are?

This is not strictly a problem, just confused!!

Ed.
