Zetec SE Boyz - Alternator advise
Boyz,
Could you advise me on the alternator for the Zetec SE?
I have been told these are controlled via the Ford ECU therefore I will have to look at going for a third party alternator to get round this to enable
it to work.
Is this the case???
Many Thanx

I am using a mini Denso alternator, as used on Kubota forklifts, it has 2 outputs one for ignition and one for charging light, and the main power
output.

SE unit is controlled by ECU. If you use it without they put out around 16 volts and destroy batteries quickly. I use donor ECU on the MEV Rocket more
often than not, you then get passive anti theft system on your kit if you use donor key and barrel.
