Europa specialist spares have good Westfield type harnesses, and you can order over the web.

Speak to MK, they will probably still have your order details and could give you a backdated reciept

trouble

trouble is that this chassis has already had two owners before me ,and was in a poor state when i acquired it iam guessing at the age as i have owned it now for 18 mths 2 yrs and i think the guy before me about the same the other i don't know but looking at the amount of corrosion that managed to eat is way through the paint then at least a couple of years or longer .

How about taking some pictures of it and then e-mailing them to MK. Their chassis was quite distinctive and evolved steadily so they may be able to pin down a date of manufacture. Best thing would be to call them up and see if they could help you out, their nice guys.

You apply for a number or make one up (it's your choice) via DVLA.

My car took me 4 years to build, but I certainly didn't give DVLA a build date of 4 years previously.... I said about 6mths before I applied.

It's not as if they're gonna carbon date your chassis!

HTH,
James

MK don't issue chassis numbers, and the age is not relevant for anything. You can either make up your own or have one issues by you local DVLA office. DIfferent offices work differently so I suggest you get in touch with the one you will be registering the car with and take their advice.

Regarding the belts, MK added reinforcement to the later Indy mountings and without these reinforcements the mountings will likely fail the SVA. I imagine the early MK non-Indy chassis uses the same non-reinforced mounts.

no I thinking more of a proof of purchase reciept from MK rather than anything to do with chassis number
