Info like this should really be a sticky at the top of the running gear section.
can chris or fozzie make that happen as it would save people a lot of time sifting through the site.
nice work steve

Sorry - I put it in here, as I thought it was more applicable in the tranmission section!
Could it also be moved and then become a sticky pretty please...

I think your right, its probably either or, we should really have more info like this stuck at the top, seems a lot of other forums do it and saves
the searching.

My post was mainly to get it up there as a "sticky" and I just copied the info from Fesycresy post last week, so if someone (a damn sight
more!) knowledgeable than me can clarify the details please I will amend the opening post to reflect the correct ratios and codes...
Steve
This is Previous post:
U is a 3.62:1
code list below will help
M=3.14 (7" or 7.5"
A=3.36 (7.5"
V=3.38 (7"
U=3.62 (7"
3=3.64 (7.5"
9=3.91 (7.5"
D=3.92 (7"

Cheers Phil.
I've edited it to suit...
Is the 3.64 3 Ratio correct or should it be a B?

I have been offered a Sierra diff and driveshafts, the vendor tells me the tag on the diff reads
83 BG 4006 AC
4A 377 3D14
Does anybody know the ratio.
Sierras were never sold in Oz so knowledge of codes etc is limited
here.
Cheers

I think thats a 3.77 ratio. Even though its rarer than even a 3.14 it not a desirable ratio.

Just though I'd add that 3.36 ratio diffs can be found in 2.0 auto sierra estates and there are a few around.
