Blimey I made the right choice with this MK...
but what is the biggest capacity tank any of you have in an MK? After driving it down the whole country last weekend the 25 litre one in mine got a
bit frustrating...Probably didn't help doing 80 leptons the whole way but I was trying to stay dry!

The standard tank is 25 litres but there's nothing to stop you getting a larger custom fuel tank made. Realistically though, how many long
journeys are you likely to do in it? And just think of all that extra weight of fuel having a negative effect on your bhp/tonne.

i think i have the worlds largest tank in a mk, and to be honest you dont need it boot space in my oppinion is much better

i have got a mk, and my tank is 6.5 gallons.

My tank is about 35 litres to the top (about 7.5 gallons). I have made a boot to fit the maximum amount of space, including a foam-lined
"sump" in the bottom about 5 inches wide with a lid which is handy for tools that might be needed but not often e.g. plug socket,
adjustable spanner. The boot is big enough for the types of journey I need to do. If I want to have lower weight, I just don't fill the tank up
so full, but it is handy for the odd longer trip
A bigger tank doesn't necessarily man you have to full it up completely every time you get fuel.
Slighty O/T but this thread has some pics of my boot box also showing the tank.

Cheers chaps. Nice idea that Simon - might pinch a bit of that.
I just wasn't sure what size they went up to or whether I had a small one (ooer). The car will be doing a fair few long journeys as am about as
south as you can get with out needing a ferry, and most of the family/friends/ tracks are a good 100 miles away.
AT the mo the filler is on the back of the rear, and filling up means trickling very slowly. I'm tempted to get rid of it and go straight into
the tank which I assume you can do, lifting a tonneau lid to do it?
