Some pics on the way mate.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the torque of the V8. My car will pull away in 4th if need be. Haven't tried 5th yet....
Cheers

kurt, any info on the carb setup? ive sold the hotwire system and have a weber 500 to use from dje but i like the idea of bike carbs
what did you use for the manifold?
bouldy, where are you and where is the guy doing your exhausts! for that price i could bin the cast manifolds and save some weight! if yours is in 304
thats a f££cking bargain!

Froggy - it's 2 pairs of 4 Yamaha R1 carbs on custom manifolds -one per bank. Steve Bogg of Bogg Brothers near York did the conversion which
included a bespoke thermostat housing and breather catch tank. The also set up the car on their RR. They do loads of conversions on 4 cylinder cars
but this was their first V8. I have some pics I could forward if you drop me your email.
Total cost of the conversion was a grand - which considering the work done and the end result was pretty good value IMO. Like you I was going for a
Weber 500, but by the time you've bought all the bits to make that work and had it set up you're looking at around £700 IIRC. The
conversion works superbly - no flat spots - just clean solid power right up to 7K!! Starts and idles well too. Not tested economy though as the car
gets very little road use.

Froggy, I may be being stupid here, but by using an MT75 gearbox and 3.62 diffs you shouldn't have any gear ratio problems as the two are
matched. The problem you had before was because the gearbox you probably used was a rover (i assuming here, either LT77 or R380) which didn't
neccessarily have the correct ratios in it to suit the 3.62 diffs. A lot of guys that run V8s in Dax Rushes comment about the gearing, but if you used
the MT75 box I don't see it as being so much of an issue.
Mike
P.S. Nice project, its just how reliant should have built them.

to be honest ive never compared ratios but im going to have to get the motor to rev well. luckily its a late 3.9 with big main caps so it can be
cross bolted and ive got an r1 carb conversion for it so it should pull cleanly to 6000. the hardest part is yet to come as ive got to make the shell
hinge up from the rear to keep it in one piece like the funny cars do
