2.0 pinto indy vs westy 1700 xflow
Hi,
So our indy build is getting near completion and im starting to wonder how it'll perform against my mates westy.
His car is a no frills westy with a 1700 xflow - suspected big valve head + cam (maybe balanced assembly too) on twin 40's.
Ours is fairly much a no frills indy with a healthy (seems to be) 2.0 pinto (inj head) with 40's. We'll probably get it set up at bogg
bro's to get the best out of it as at the moment the carbs appear to be jetted for a smaller lump.
His was our inspiration, its not silly quick, but seriously entertaining and quick enough. I'm worried we'll be disappointed with ours now
though having read another negative thread about std pintos.
I'd expect similar power from the above engines (120 ish?)but i know there's a lot of factors so its hard to say....any predictions?

Hi Dan,
I wouldnt worry about it,i have a 2 litre pinto with injection head and zzr 1100 carbs in my no frills indy and it can scare me on a damp road.I have
no figures for power as it has not been in the car very long but from what have been told it should be around the 120 mark(unless i am told
otherwise)
Andy.

I wouldn't worry about this at all. My MK has a 2l Pinto and it is more than fast enough to put a smile on your face. Mine is running fuel
injection, and on a recent rolling road, only produce 100bhp, but when you consider the car only weighs 600Kg, the power to weight ratio is still
good.
