Wing stays
Finally got my wing stays off MK after the customary wait
Are there any mods worth doing to stop them dying quickly, or am I better off just letting them die?
Cheers.

Bend 'em once properly. If you keep on bending / unbending them to get them to fit you're asking for metal fatigue. I wondered about
tempering them after bending to try and stop it happening (but I've got 5mm thick STM ones now so it's not a problem ).

My MK stays are 5mm thick, but are 8yrs old, do they make them thinner now?

Mine were made at some point in the last 6 weeks, and are 5mm thick.

Mine were fitted in 2006 and have never snapped or flexed since.
There are lots of posts about wing stays snapping but i don't understand
what all the fuss is about. They are made of 5mm thick steel though, maybe newer ones are thinner.
