Have I done something wrong?

Reading through an old post, it says that the rear sierra hub nut should always tighten to the front of the car. Well I have put my driveshafts on and hub carriers etc and the passenger side tightens to the front but to tighten the drivers it tightens to the rear? I have tightened them both to 200nm is this ok?

Also the driveshaft and the hub nut sticks out the centre of the wheel and I cant get the centre cap on any ideas how to sort this?

Cheers

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

right-hand thread on all modles manufactured before late december 1982 but as from this date left-hand threaded assemblies wear progressively fitted to the right-hand splindle carrier.
the modified right-hand hub is identified by the letter 'R' stamped on its outer face.

Never done one, but I have always read that the huts were handed thread and there was a blue and a yellow band on them to tell you which was which?

Are the driveshafts recon units or straight off the donor. I have seen in the past recon unit suppliers use what was available at the time instead of what should have been used.

Thanks

Shaun

Eyeballing the thread saves having to remember which band means what.

Aha They are reconditioned driveshafts meant to be exact replicas of the old donor ones i sent off.

Is this going to be a problem then? also is 200nm tight enough?
