MK Spec R steering

In the early phases of building an Mk Spec R, I have a question regarding the steering rack. I've been using the "search" for a while but I'm still confused.

As I understand correct, the sierra rack is too long and should be cut. Do they cut the rack or also the housing and how much?
I also read about an escort rack that shouldn't be cut.

Which solution did you use/recommend ?

I thought that shortening the rack was part of the deal when you bought an Indy ?

Speak to MK.

Both the rack, and housing{body} are shortend on the donor"SIERRA" steering rack to fit the MK Indy R chassis, this reworked rack is supplied with the Indy R kit, although there may be a small surcharge if you have not supplied them with a donor rack, also if you require a quick rack there is also additional charge.

Here's a picture of mine. They cut out a section and welded in another, and fitted a quick rack at the same time for me. I supplied the original rack.

The measurement is from where the lip for the gaitor just start.

Finally back on the job!
