Pedal Box Tubes

What have people used to close up the end of the tubes coming from the pedal box to the engine bay.

I know hellfire has made some tophats but i dont have access to a lathe so cant do this.

I need someway of holding the cable so the inner can be pulled.

Any pics would be very useful.

Thanks

Hi

If you mean for the throttle cable just use pushbike brake cables and adjuster

Tophat's

I'm sure someone can help greggors84 out... this is what he means.

Unfortunately we have use of a lathe very rarely... otherwise we'd have made him some . You do need something to prevent the outer from pulling through the tube. This works admirably by placing the adjuster before this and then the inner threads through to a banjo and secures to the pedal.

Hi

Didn't realise you meant clutch cable, mine had a plastic coller at the pedal end which stops it pulling through and the adjuster at the gearbox end, standard MK2 escort

What diamiter is the tube? how about drilling through a close fitting bolt?

Thanks hellfire, you did a better job explaining in with the picture.

I could maybe get some plugs that fit the hole then make a hole in the middle for the cable.

What did you mean about the bike brake bits?

We did the same as hellfire in the end but used nylon. Although to start with we used the ends of an Autobox gear selector cable.

Pedal Box Tubes

Afternoon All,
The Indy that Charlie at MK was building had alloy "top hats" in the bulhead tubes.
Perhaps Mk sell them?
Hope this helps.
