Drum brake assembly question

Hi,

I'm putting the drum brake plates on the rear uprights and have noticed that there are a couple of raised sections on the back of the plates which press against the hub carrier itself when assembled. Is this ok?

I did a quick forum search and couldn't find anything so probably means I'm being over cautious or I've done something wrong!

brake plate 1

Thanks,

Lee

When i built my indy it had drums and the
backplates looked just like that.
As long as the plate if flat against the upright and not deformed, it is ok.
