its staying ! *found origional thread*

after alot of thinking about what to do with my indy
jobs
and life in general
i have made one decission and that is to keep the indy and use it and enjoy driving it for a little longer

im about to spend the little cash i have and put some decent wellies on it
then have the geometry sorted out by someone who actually knows what they are doing
rather than me trying to do it
my only problem is transporting it somewhere due to the fact i cant drive for a while
so does anyone know somewhere localish who they would trust to set their car up??
thank you locostbuilders

just found my origional thread about tyres so sorted now

pro-comp are in the erdington area in birmingham i think and they will FULLY SET UP your car for £200, im trying to scrounge the money together to get mine done, think it might be a bit far for you though.

and they provide lunch and tea and biccies!

what is the relevence of the tyre sizes?

i think this is pro-comp's website here its ran by matt and ivan, who i believe are brothers. the are on the forum under the username 'procomp', might be worth a u2u, aparently there service is the nuts

i run 205/15/15's all round on mine and i have no problems with grip or getting the power down, unless i rev the nuts out of the engine and then drop the clutch, then its wheel spin city, mind you i do have an LSD as well

i dont have an lsd
i would have thought an lsd would make it harder to spin the wheels as it spins both rather than just one?

ill order them and hope for the best
i want to get some track action in soon or i will have to change my name to trackday chicken

good on you mate!

I wouldn't get too hung up over setting it up, if you considering selling then I'd put your £200 into a track day - get a smile on your face and be able to speak about the handling characteristics of your car to whoever you then get to set it up.

Be a shame to spend money on new tyres, and setting it up - only to change your mind again becuase you still havn't enjoyed the pleasure of driving it.

Thats what I'd do anyway.

Who cares if your not the fastest at a track? You know you can chnage the tyres and get it set up to loose ten thenths!

ive got some plans in the pipeline so the indy will be with me for a long while yet.

im sure Andy D and Paul Fisher will give me some stick if i end up on a trackday with them

i just need my foot to heal up a bit more and im going to book 2 or 3 trackdays even if the indy lets me down i can always use the tintop

Here you go..

He did a rolling road and suspension set up for me a few years back. Miserable git, but does a good job.

Have you spoken to Andy @ AB Performance (Buxhall, Suffolk)?

Not used them myself, but I have spoken to Andy on a couple of things to do with my Indy set-up. Always very helpful and does seem well respected by others who have used him.

Still maybe a bit far away from you, but he does offer trackday service so you can set the car up, test, adjust, test and get it how you like it. Not sure on the cost for this option, but day rates if yo go to him were very reasonable.
