Boot box. No Laughing :)
As I have nothing else to do!
I want to make a removable boot box, to hold either clean things whilst away or tool for example.
I have made a (stop laughing) pattern from cardboard and sqeezy bottles
Its abot 26" wide, 9" tall and I propose it rests on the top of the tank and the seat back diagonals.
Just thinking out loud now how to progress it and what to make it with. Do i use plywood build it out of ally sheet or fibreglass over a similar
mould?
Any ideas, (who's that sniggering?)

I made one orignally from ali sheet
Then replaced it with one made from plywood which uses more of the space,
including down between the diff and the fuel tank. It is removable, though it is a bit of a fiddle and has to be dismantled in 2 pieces.

the MK one is okay but doesnt maximise the amount of space available, weve just butchered one and made it larger, it does also have to be removed in 2
stages. go for the ally keep it light and strong
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

Definatly the Locost option.
If I replecesd the "waste" tape with normal brown tape it would probably look really good

I feel your pain
Exactly the path I'm trying to avoid duplicating, but good work

I do.
But, for a serious answer, it's not fittable or removable with rear diagonal roll bars, without hacking it to pieces

I bought some new boots and threw the box away, I don't think it would have been much good for you anyway
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I used a PVC storage box.
Lots available in loads of shapes and sizes - all very cheap.
Think I paid £5 for my boot box.

I've done ours in 0.9mm alu sheet.
The main box is between rear bulkhead, fuel tank and rear diagonal members. This is removable but in 3 pieces. Then I've also boxed one of the
'wells' to the right of the fuel tank which makes a nice tall storage for foot pump/jack/wheel brace.
Cost me £15 for 1m x 2m ali sheet.
Also sheeted the underside beneath the diff and fuel tank to prevent 'swirling' air going up into this area. dunno how much good its done
but it looks nice
