Word of warning!
This afternoon i thought i'd have a go at wiring up my blade engine and see if it would run even though i haven't got my exhaust yet.No
problem i thought as there are no neighbours. After about half an hour of messing with wiring out side stand switches, etc. etc came the big moment.
After about 10secs. of turning over it burst into life...brilliant....and then total horror, there were 3 foot high flames coming out of the engine bay
between the engine and the side panel!
Luckily i had a fire extinquisher which was put to good use and no damage was done!Talk about excitment to total horror in a split second!
The moral to this story is always have a fire extinquisher to hand or better still fit the exhaust before starting for the first time.
I'd better get an exhaust sorted now from MK!

I understand your apprehension to get it started... personally I think I'd have waited...
I get your point about the extinguisher though - just make sure it's the inert gas or powder type though. Water wouldn't have been much
good on a petrol fire

When loosely wiring anything "just to give it a quick whirl" it pays to wire it with an isolater in line, but mke sure the isolater is
located in the immediate vacinity so you dont need to dash to the battery or to the ignition barrel to kill it, .......
speaking from experience!
