A big thanks to Danny and Baz @ MK and rest of the locostbuilders
After an off and a couple of months rebuilding her, she is now back on the road and nearly in full health.
Took her up to MK yesterday for a bit of remedial chassis work and want to thank Danny for putting up with all my questions and Baz for some great
cups of tea.
Plan was for Pewe and I to leave at 5.15 and trailer the car up the road and get to MK between 8 and 9. But after me forgetting keys, Pewe's
trailer car not starting, finding a replacement trailer vehicle at 7 and getting on the road at 9.30 we got as far as Nottingham by 10.30 ish and the
trailer broke. What a friggin day
So it was decided that I would drive the Indy the rest of the way, and if needed take the train home. (no helmet, as I had left this at home).
So 100 miles to MK in the Indy on the motorway without a lid Got to MK at 1ish just in time for a fantastic cup of tea from Baz. Danny worked on
my car during the afternoon and then it was time for 180 motorway miles home in the Indy.
So I really wanted to thanks Pewe (and his son Chris), Westf27, f1ngers, CraigR and Danny and Baz at
MK for their help in getting the car back on the road. I have honestly learnt so so much in the rebuilding and learnt many more skills and boosted my
confidence in working on the things that need to be done.
So, to wrap up, if you hear about a nutter on my M1, M18 or M40 yesterday driving a silly car and wearing Froggie style goggles it was probably me.
I cannot reccomend driving without a full lid, but it can be done, if needed - but boy did I feel valunurable.
So here's to seeing you at a meet or on a track soon.
Cheers
Craig
