Depends why you want the calipers
They WON'T make the car stop quicker
They WILL save some weight
They WILL look nicer
's'up to you - it's your cash

I know MK modify the uprights, what exactly do they do to them and is it something I can do? Just tryig to avoid a long journey of it is not
necessary. Have tried emailing MK but not had a reply
thanks

They taper reamer out the lower bush in the upright so that it fits the Maxi bottom ball joint. It is something you could get done local at some sort
of engineering company,if you take along your uprights and your ball joints to them,or just wait until the next time you visit MK and get them to do
it as its free service as part of your kit

does this still count if I didn't buy the kit direct but 2nd hand as a part built?

I am sure if you ask them they would, its only a 2 minute job,the guy you bought the kit off should have brought his uprights along and had them done
when he collected his kit,so you will have no problems with the MK lads, you will find them very obliging
