Chassis number ?

I am building a MK Indy R1 and was wondering how i get a chassis number for it ?

Do a search.....been covered many times, lots of opinions and different results.
Personally I chose my own.
Remember that imported cars have chassis numbers not provided by the dvla and they are allowed.
I just made mine up and checked it against a Vin checker on google.

I believe there is a preferred format.
I beleve its 16 + characters.
They do not like O's or I's (OH's & Eye's)
as thay can be confused with One's and Zero's.
My Luego Supplied VIN has no Oh's or Eye's, they are all replaced by Ones and Zeros.

I concur it does NOT have to be DVLA supplied, as the Kit Manufacturer can supply them. I bet the DVLA dont produce the VINS for Fords, as they roll off the production line every minute or so! That would be a never ending job for the DVLA.

Have you asked MK for a VIN for your Chassis? I assume you bought it from them.
