MT75 Bearing Overhaul

Anyone done an overhaul on an MT75 g/box ?

I've got a spare box which has a noisey main shaft bearing . Fancied a go at it myself .After all how difficult can it be !!!!

Have a feeling it might require specialist tools so might not be a goer ?

I am sure there is a service manula floating around the net some where. I will have a butchers when I get home.

I will say that a bearing will cost you more than a good used box. there not the most poular and often sell for £30. unlike the T9 which often fetches over a ton on ebay these days.

Thanks much appreciated. As I say just fancied a crack at it. local firms want close on £400 to overhaul it and as you say you can pick them up quite cheaply but at least I know the one I have which used to on the car has no other issues .

It probably is quite straightforward apart from any specialist tools which always tend to make it not a viable proposition for the home mechanic !!
