QUICK RACK QUESTIONS.?

WHAT YOUR VIEW ON DRIVING WITH 4.2 TURNS ON AN INDY.?
IF I USE A QUICK RACK KIT ie (rally design) DO THEY JUST GO STRAIGHT IN TO THE SHORTEND RACK.?

Hi GeoffB,

4.2 turns does seem alot, but once coupled to a 11"steering wheel things should be better.

Martin did advise me that a quick rack on normal roads is a bit lively, as you can end up on the other side of the road if you even sneeze, but on a trackday would be great.

But again some of the BEC Indy boys have had one fitted and have not complained.

The Quick rack will have to be shortened as well.

Good luck with getting one from rally design, as i waited 6 weeks for one!

Gave up in the end, will get one if i find the steering a bit boring when it gets on the road!

Try going straight to Quaife if you decide to get one - they supply most of the regular outlets!

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Chris,
Are those racks already shortened to fit into the MK Indy modified rack case?

Marc N,
How much are your shortened racks?

Does anyone know are they east enough to fit into a modified steering rack casing?
Thanks guys.
Ali

we get them full length then shorten them to what people require, for mk applications on average we need to reduce them by an extra 20mm although they do seem to vary slightly from rack to rack, so best to measure
hope this helps

Just fitted quickrack supplied by marc n to my Indy......... and its brilliant! has transformed the 'feel' of the car- much more surefooted and direct. Rack was out car, changed, back in car and driving down the road in an hour and a half! top service from marc n- highly recommended! and i prob would have got one from mk snoopy but didn't realise they were back in stock!
