ZZr1200 or ZX12-r in indy

Hi

I just refuse point blank to pay the crazy prices some people are asking for 9 year old ZX-12r engines

Having a look at the bike specs the ZZR1200 seems a cheaper alternative. It around 30bhp less but it got 20Nm of torque extra, which is what is needed when pulling 450kg Indy.

I,ve been told the ZZR12 never made there quoted BHP /torque, told to go zx-12r and hand over 1.8k !!

is any one running running either of the above. or better still two Indy raced each other with the above power plants. Is there a marked difference between the above in performance terms ?

Can a ZZr12 be 'tweeked' with dyno jet kit/head work to give ZX12 bhp?

or any other options out there ? BEC wise.

Ive always found the even 1000cc engines have well enough torque to pull the indy. Its basically the amount of money you want to spend.
the zx12s are pretty good engines, so id say worth the extra cash. bear in mind you could easily end up spending lots getting the extra power out the zzr engine.

trust me its worth the money
i bought a 2004 zx12r with the loom ecu etc for £1500 last year
or if your planning on saving your hard earned why not go for a zx9 or a blade engine ??
all the best

i,m running an 893cc blade in mind already with dyno jet kit , mated to 3.92 on 195/45/15 F1. Its v quick and quite manic once past 8k, but it does not have low down grunt. Got offered a ZX12-r for 1k, but its Nr Wales and if its wrong, its a long trip from Edinburgh to take it back LOL . Malc asking a wee bit more, but i know him and hes NEVER let me down. My problem is i,m in the trade (build car engines ) and i refuse to pay RRP. I know its a pride thing. Whats wrong with wanting a good deal.
So i dont want any wise cracks about the jocks
