Quaife Sierra quick rak
I have just placed an order with Quaife for a Sierra fast rack RHD 2.8 turns Pt no. QSF9Z102/09 @ £72 + carriage + vat, no money up front either.

Mark n has them for £99 and fit staight in- right length for me MK shortened rack- top service too! MK also have them avail for £105
|

Yes I do know they need to be shortened.
I got sick of asking MK for a quick rack last year so I haven't tried since.

Still undecided whether to get a quick rack or not, judging by other peoples comments. Might wait until we've done a few track days first before
taking the plunge. How do you find it on the road?
Gearbox not sorted yet. We know what the problem is though and are waiting for some crap weather before we strip the engine down to fix it. Gotta take
advantage of the fine weather at present

Quite right too! i found the standard rack very light, making it difficult to 'feel' at one with the car. quick rack has weighted it up
nicely and am now much more confident chucking the car into corners etc- its much easier to drive without all the wheel twirling too!
rack out car, new quickrack fitted and rack back in car and on the road in an hour and a half! well worth it!

Funnily enough Graham, our car felt light initially, and we felt it was too light and uneasy. When we had it all tracked up and suspension set
properly, it tranformed the car making it feel like you were part of it - not just sat in it. When we put on a smaller wheel - this further increased
the driving experience to such an extent that is so difficult not to keep pushing the boundaries.
Hopefully we'll be doing a few track days soon...

Got one ordered from Marc at MNR, should be arriving today!
Nice bloke, really helpfull and his website is being updated all the time, plus he is open for business 7days a week!
When i first got the steering connected and had a mock drive ( BRMMMM.....BRMMMMM... you know the score )  i thought how quick could i opposite lock
when the back end wants to play?
4 and a bit turns lock to lock seems a bit much.
I decided i am building a quick car, why not have quick steering to match!

Just got of the phone from MNR and he couldn't have been more helpful, although he may need to reduce the length of his calls if he wants to get
any work done. I was chatting to him for 40 minutes and eventually ordered one of his quick racks. With all his race car preparation experience the
seven should be a good car but only time will tell.
