Hi Tony

I've used the dizzy, ignition module and coil off a 1.6 pinto sierra, not bothered connecting the vac adv

As for timing it depends on your cam,
mines about 12 deg static

too hot exhausts can also be a sign of running weak, are the carbs spitting back?

My DCOE manifold has a vacum pickup port on it.

Scot's do it better in Kilts.

MK INDY's Don't Self Centre Regardless of MK Setting !

Cheers adrian
yeh the carbs spit back but it's as rich as hell. my manifold also has a vacuum pick up but the problem using it is it will only vacuum on that particular cylinder so i've been told.
I've only got one wire in my harness for an ignition feed so I can't use the ford ecu or 3 wire dizzy

Hi tony

Vac adv only really helps with economy on part throttle so shouldn't be your problem
If you want you can fit a valve to the vac line and connect it to one port

Spitting back can also mean air leaks aroung the carb mounts

As for the ford elec ign (you dont need the ford ECU) theres only 6 wires, 2 to dizzy, coil, live, ign live and earth.

As far as i know all 3 wire dizzys have no mech adv

Bosch inductive dizzy with vacuum (not used) and mechanical advance and the six wire amplifier to go with it as pic. From 85 or earlier carbed 2 or 1.6 sierra, not economy model.
