brake problems

hi guys,

getting a bit fed up now. by build is almost done and now the brake master cylinder (old sierra unit) is leaking.

the same usual problem has come up

"just go and get a repair kit" - ok which year/model etc is it from? - no idea.

Please can someone be so kind and help me find somewhere i can buy a replacement...

I don't care which MS it is anymore. I'll just re-do the pipework if it doesnt fit.

need reservoir to as well.

Ideally brand new and not crazy money

I have sierra vented discs on the front and non vented discs on the rear (All standard kit)

Thank you....

Try these guys, very helpful and much cheapness. I've got a fiat 124 MC which is supposed to be better than the sierra one if you don't use a servo.

Yeah I think I read that the other day (was possibly your post)

Is it a BMC4020

and can they supply the reservoir?

Oh and most importantly, does it use the same mountings on the chassis as the sierra one?

Thanks!

Yep it's the BMC4020 one. Don't know if they can supply a resevoir i'm using one from rally design with 2 lengths of pipe to connect it to the MC.

Thanks for the info... Gold star for effort

One last questiom, we've got this far so I'm sure you will know the answer...

What Diameter pipe shall I order? is it 8mm?

I have some clear tube that I use to bleed brakes, I'm wondering if that would do?

I like the idea of having the res on the shelf with the battery etc because its current location on the MS is a bit of a pain.

Thanks again mate.

It's only at the end of the build, when you can really test stuff, that you start to find the real problems!

I had the same problem, I bought a pretty rare seal kit to re-build it but it was never right. So I ended up buying a replacement m/cyl from someone on here.

Anyway, is your one of these?

Sierra Master Cylinders

Hope that helps,

Use this stuff instead of clear plastic tube.
