upgrades

hi all have done a few track days in my mk indy 919 blade and i was looking fine tune things to get a bit more ouy of it.i am currently running a standard air filter and box.firstly how can i get the best out of it.dynojet kit?sausage filter? or a rolling road session and get suspension properly set up.i have to say i am not particularly impressed by handling.seems to be a bit vague going into corners.when i built it i set it up to mk's specs, cant remember what that was now.also anyone recommend anyone in kent area to set up?also what tyre pressures and damper settings are others using.

many thanks

marc

Getting what you have set up properly will be the best approach. Assuming the engine can be tuned etc.
The handling may well benefit from proper alignment if you are not absolutely certain it is spot on. alignmycar.com has a decent system, not cheapest but does the job properly. Make sure any specs you supply are correct, you may need to sit in the car or use weights as that can make a significant difference.

My list would be the following.......

Reduce un-sprung weight (fit 13" wheels)
Remove any excess weight & use carbon where required.
Aluminium Hubs
Aluminium 4pot calipers
Uprate suspension (if needed)
Settup suspension
Keep standard air box
Tuned manifold exhaust and air filter (rolling road again)
Fit Power Commander
Rolling Road

can you fit power comander to a carb engine?think thats only for injection?mine is 1998 rrw engine.also when corner weighting what weights would you use?should front and rear match?presumably as engine in front this would always be heavier?or should you add weight to rear?any recommendations of companies in kent area that could do this?thanks for responses so far.

Tuned intake lengths and exhaust lengths matched to the cam.
If you are running the bike inlet and carbs then you just need to mirror the bike exhaust manifold, most kit car exhausts are made to fit the body and are not the right length for a bike engine.
Corner weights, tyre pressures, geometry.

The vague turn in could be to do with a lack of castor. I seem to remember someone mentioning that indys suffer a bit with this.
