MK indy R rear wheel bearings?

Hey folks, my indy r failed it's MOT due to excessive play in one of the rear wheels so am assuming it needs a new wheel bearing.

Any ideas what the part number would be and where I can get one from? Base car is a 1987 1.8l sierra

Don't assume.
They should have been more clear though?
Big possibillity is the camber adjuster on the top rear hub mount..
But otherwise this type of thing?

push-in driveshafts or bolt-on?

I'm going to investigate further tomorrow. Can the camber adjuster affect play in the wheel?

How can I tell the difference between push in / bolt on driveshafts? I didn't build the car so am learning as I go!

MOT tester seemed to think it was a bearing. My car is was based on the 1.8, is it the same part as the 1.6?

Hi Iain

first of your car isnt based on any model other that a sierra.

the front hubs are the same no matter what (they only come in 2 variants 2wd and 4wd, and i dont think anyone uses the 4wd variants)

the rear hubs on the other hand take 2 different drive shaft fitments, push in drive shafts or bolt on drive shafts. how to tell? at the differential end of the drive shaft (the box of wonders in the middle) you will have some flanges that bolt the drive shafts to the diff or you wont. if you do, you have bolt on drive shafts, usually found on xr4x4 rear end (probably others but im no sierra expert). if you dont they are push in.

Ive got to be honest, ive found the whole sierra thing a bit of a nightmare and im building my own.

Also check the polly bushes for wear and bolts for tightness

i had one for mot with wear in the polly bush

Jacked the back end of mine up the other week as part of my pre summer check, only to find play, first thought was wheel bearing on investigation it turned out to be the long bolt holding lower wishbone to hub carrier, even though it is a nyloc, needs further investigation when I get a chance.

Right just been out, car has bolt on drive shafts.

Jacked the car up and to say the car has "excessive play" is a slight exaggeration although there is some which will need to be sorted. As far as I can tell it's coming from the hub itself so think it is the bearing although there is so little movement it's hard to tell. I couldn't get the rear wheel off it must've been put on with an impact gun :-(

Could the big nut not be tight enough ? they have to be FT cant remember the torque somthing like 250nm or ft some one will tell you my sure
