megabusa euro 3 or euro 4
Hello,
i have yesterday an appointement for the RTI of my Megabusa un France.
Everything is ok with the dreal and now i have to passed the test UTAC.
And i have an important question : since the last year there a new test , if the car is euro 4 and of course euro 5, witch seem to be impossible for
a BEC.
So do you know if in England the Megabusa is euro 3 or euro 4 for the polution and do you have a lambda on your motor of Yahabusa ?

I think you will find that 99-2002 engines are euro 1 compliant, 2003-2007 are euro 2. Only the new Hayabusa from 08 onwards are euro 3. There are no
Euro 4 motorcycles as the latest requirement is euro 3. Lambda sensors have been fitted since 2003.
If it can't be fixed with a hammer then its probably an electrical problem.

Alphasports suggests lambda on 2008 bike
not on 2007
but that is a US site, so could be different to UK.

thanks for the picture, i see the lambda on the exhaust but where is the lambda on the motors ?
Do you know if there is a really difference between euro 3 and euro 4 ?
And is it possible possible to have an attestation than in UK the Megabusa passed the tests to euro 3 ?

Since this year,
for UTAC every car imatriculate since 2006 need to pass the EURO 4, what it's impossible with a BEC....
So i need to have the prove that in UK the Megabusa is EURO 3...

Have you tried contacting Suzuki UK? They might be able to tell you whether the 2007 is Euro 3 compliant or not based on the engine number. They may
also provide you with written proof. Either way, I would suspect that the Euro 3 compliancy is achieved due to a combination of the engine and the
exhaust system. I'm not so sure they would provide written proof for an engine with a custom fabricated exhaust. In which case it might be best
not to mention that it's fitted in a kitcar, or alternatively, tell them you're using the standard factory engine and silencer.
Obviously, if it isn't Euro 3 compliant you may have a bigger problem.

UTAC - Union Technique de l’Automobile, du motocycle et du Cycle is a private French company with an official mandate for vehicle approvals,

You seem to know the subject....
The problem is in France , the autority don't want we import exotic cars....
So if we don't find solutions for euro 4, it will be impossible to passed RTI with BEC....
Like you say , i will try to contact Suzuki and to try to have an attestation for euro 3.
You havn't problems with VOSA with euro 4 or euro 3 in UK ?

The Westfield Dealer in France can't do something, because the Megabusa never been imported in France....
So the last chance is Suzuki or Westfield UK...

I needed some info regarding my Busa engine and contacted Suzuki customer service. They were extremely helpful, but the number I have is for UK
customers only. You maybe able to contact them by fax http://ccr.suzuki.co.uk/faq.php but I am sure if you go on the Suzuki France site the number
will be there.

If i used two catalysers exhaust emissions could decrease ?
