An MK on Ebay...

MK INDY - YAMAHA 1000CC THUNDERACE ( BIKE ENGINE ) | eBay

found this quote particularly worrying "the car is taxed and tested but not as an mk so for that reason i have reflected my starting price to account for if the new owner wants to sva / iva the car"

surely this is illegal??

Apparently that's a 1976 Triumph, 2L, in white.

Yep, just ever so slightly illegal.

Just putting the wrong plates on a car to get it on the road? The guy as good as says that's what he has done.

I don't think I'd be admitting it in public if I'd done something like that. Mind you I wouldn't do it

By showing it with a number plate and road tax and saying it can be test driven if insured misleads people into thinking it's fine and legal to use on the road- whilst the reality is it could be pulled over and have it's registration cancelled at any time. The seller cant reasonably expect every member of the buying pulic to know what the IVA is- he makes it sound like a detail rather than the showstopper it really is.
With number plate recognition software now so widely available it's not going to last too long before the police spot that it's not a Triumph 2000.

Surely the garage that has MOT'ed the car should be investigated, when they put the reg number in there system it must come up as a triumph 2000, and then they should refuse to test it.
