I left all the safety circuits in place with the exception of sidestand and clutch switch. These two switches are bypassed by cutting off the connector and shorting the circuit.

I left the remaining ones as they were either useful or a pain to bypass. For example, the angle cut off switch reads between 1v and 4v depending on angle, so if you disconnect it (i.e. 0v) then the engine won't start.

There are plenty of wiring diagrams about , but all seem to miss the crucial RED connector that's on all of the R1 looms I have seen. Just in case your diagram also misses this connector, the wires to connect to bypass are:

- Black connects to blue/yellow
- Blue/pink connects to blue

If you have any specific questions let me know.

Regards
Chris

Can't find that red connector in my loom.
I am missing some wiring that connected by the headstock on the bike so i have no front lights or indicator's or clock's wiring.
Is it in there?

Ian,
It's often by the main switch where the key connects. This is on european R1's but not USA models I believe.

If you aint got it then that's fine.

Chris

P.S. have you now got a diagram?

Most people do baffle the sump and fit an oil tulip, but I know some people who are road users only haven't bothered.

You can buy them 'off the shelf' from a company called All Bikes (01303 248444) for 75 quid.

People have made them out of thin ali and I know people have posted the dimensions before so you can make your own. Perhaps someone will re-post it here for you.

Chris
